Blended Bloom Goodbye and Clearance Rack Specials

Linda Vich Creates: Blended Bloom Goodbye and Clearance Rack Specials. Beautiful Bermuda Bay dazzles on this emboss resist card that uses Blended Bloom.
Today I dove back into my stash to create this commissioned card.

I started with a Thick Whisper White matte. Using the long retired Blended Bloom stamp, I used Versamark to stamp all over the matte and then heat embossed it using White Stampin' Emboss Powder.

Taking a sponge, I sponged on Bermuda Bay, concentrating the color more at the middle of each bloom. I stamped, embossed and sponged one more bloom on a separate piece of card stock. I used my scissors to fussy cut this bloom.

On a strip of vellum, I stamped the sentiment from the now retiring Greatest Greetings stamp set and heat embossed it with Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder. I folded this around the sponged matte and taped it at the back. The matte was then adhered to a Bermuda Bay card base using Fast Fuse. Plain Whisper White mattes were adhered inside the card to give plenty of room for people to sign the card.

The fussy cut bloom was adhered to the card front using Dimensionals. A now retired Iced Rhinestone was added to the bloom's centre to complete the card.

Using a piece of Bermuda Bay card stock, I created a matching envelope using the Envelope Punch Board. To jazz up the envelope, I stamped the flower, using matching Bermuda Bay ink, on the envelope flap and three times on the front of the envelope.

This was so much fun to create–gotta love emboss resist!

My purchaser loved the card! She plans to buy future cards from me and may also have a class with some other friends.

Can you believe that it is already the last day of the year? I know I can't! It seems that December and blogging don't work for me–only one blog post in December so I thought I better get another one in before 2015!

Anyway, I decided to round up my ten favorite cards to share with you. Click on each photo to be taken to the original article.

Enjoy and Happy New Year! See you in 2015.

In The Pink

I guess I was in the mood for pink when I got home from my Walmart shift yesterday! Once again, I was drawn to the Wondrous Wreath stamp set and framelits.

Linda Vich Creates: In The Pink

I wanted to use varying shades of pink with just a hint of black to add some pop. I chose Pink Pirouette for the card base and front matte, Rose Red and Melon Mambo for the wreath and Basic Black for the contrast. The Pink Pirouette matte uses the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder, one of my favorites.

Instead of berries on the wreath I used the little flowers, popped up with Dimensionals. The ribbon is the now retired Regal Rose 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon.

Here's the card from an angle.

For my second card, I used Melon Mambo Blendabilities to color in the Blended Bloom stamp. I fussy cut the flower and mounted it with Dimensionals on Basic Black.

The easel card base and banner are from Melon Mambo. The matte is Whisper White stamped with the Hardwood stamp using Tuxedo Black Memento.

To complete the card, a strip of matching Hardwood was added, topped off with two now retired items: Basic Black 1/2" Scallop Dots Ribbon and Frosted Finishes Embellishments.
Here's a close up showing the Frosted Finishes card stop.

Now if you really want to make your order count, hold off on your order until August 1 and then pair some of the above with August's wonderful BigShot promotion: Buy the BigShot and receive a BigShot bundle of stamp set and matching framelits for FREE! What a WONDERFUL deal!

But what if you already own the BigShot? There is still a deal for you! You can purchase 1 or more of these special BigShot Bundles for 15% off! These bundles are NOT offered in the catalog! Check back on August 1 to view these special bundles!

Also, on August 1, ALL of the Blendabilities become available for purchase! Have you tried a few of the early release and are now itching for some of the new colors? If this is your first time ordering them, remember that you will need to use the Memento Tuxedo Stamp Pad as the regular Stampin' Up! inks will bleed into your coloring. The Color Lifter is also a valuable tool to have for creating highlights or cleaning up stray coloring marks. The Blendabilities are designed to work on our Whisper White Cardstock so be sure you have a good supply of that as well!

Here is a sympathy card I created sometime ago using the Blendabilities with the Blended Bloom stamp. I just love the combination of the two!

Blended Bloom using Blendabilities

I created a square card base using Smoky Slate Cardstock. I added a matte from Bermuda Bay Cardstock which I scored using the Simply Scored tool. I adhered this to the card front.

Using the Circles Collection Framelits I used two of the circles to cut through the card front and then to create two ring "frames" to adhere on top of the Bermuda Bay matte. The innermost frame needed a bit more definition so I outlined it using my Indigo Island Stampin Marker.

The flower was stamped on Whisper white using the Memento Tuxedo Black Stamp Pad and then colored using Blendabilities. The flower was then fussy cut and mounted on dimensionals to the inside of the card.

The sentiment was stamped on Whisper White using Bermuda Bay ink and then punched using the Modern Label punch. I punched two more labels from Island Indigo. These were cut in half, one lengthwise, one widthwise, and adhered behind the white label to create a matte. Dimensionals were used to pop up the sentiment.
