Dragonfly Thank You

Linda Vich Creates: Dragonfly Thank You. Die cut dragonfly in shiny black adorns a Petal Burst embossed background of Watermelon Wonder on this vibrant thank you card.
Today my card share uses the retiring Watermelon Wonder–I'm going to miss it!

I started by embossing a matte of Watermelon Wonder using the Petal Burst Embossing Folder. Turning it to the debossed side, I sponged Cherry Cobbler ink all over the matte, concentrating on the edges.

The sentiment, from the now retired Another Thank You stamp set, was stamped using the MISTI to allow it to be stamped first with Basic Black and then with Versamark. It was heat embossed with Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder. After die cutting with an oval from the Stitched Shapes Framelits, it was also sponged with Cherry Cobbler ink.

An scalloped oval from the Layering Ovals Framelits was used to die cut an oval from Basic Black. It was stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder to make it shiny. The sentiment was then adhered to it using liquid adhesive.

The Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits were used to die cut a dragonfly from Basic Black and it was heat embossed like the scalloped oval.

The embossed matte was adhered to a thin Watermelon Wonder matte and then to a Basic Black card base. The dragonfly was adhered to the card front with Glue Dots and the sentiment with Dimensionals. Rhinestones were added for a little bling.

A Whisper White matte was stamped with a dragonfly in Watermelon Wonder and then adhered inside the card to complete it.

Unfortunately, the pictures of this card do not do this card justice. The combination of of Cherry Cobbler and Watermelon Wonder gives a stunning play of light and shadow, enhanced by the shiny black of the dragonfly and embellished sentiment.

So Detailed Floral Boutique Thank You

Linda Vich Creates: So Detailed Floral Boutique Thank You. A formal thank you card made with the So Detailed Framelits and the Floral Boutique DSP.
Today I sat down to create a card to go along with the welcome kit I was sending to my newest recruit. I wanted a card that was formal and classy. Because of this, I again reached for the So Detailed Thinlits as well as the Floral Boutique DSP.

I cut a standard card base from Night of Navy and then adhered a strip of the Floral Boutique DSP at the top of the card front. The largest die from the So Detailed Thinlits was used to die cut Whisper White card stock. This piece was adhered to conceal the edge of the DSP.

The sentiment, from the now retired Another Thank You stamp set, was stamped with Night of Navy on Thick Whisper White. It was die cut with an oval from the Stitched Shapes Framelits. A scalloped oval was die cut from Night of Navy using one of the Layering Ovals Framelits. The die cuts were layered and adhered using liquid adhesive. Dimensionals were used to adhere the sentiment to the card front. Pearls were added for some final bling. I kept the inside of the card simple with only a white matte and a strip of matching DSP.

I also decided to fancy up the envelope by adding an envelope liner. I die cut one from the DSP using the now retired Envelope Liners Framelits.

For the welcome kit for my recruit, I added a piece of the Floral Boutique DSP into a stamp box and then filled it with an assortment of Stampin' Up! goodies!

Garden in Bloom Thank You

Linda Vich Creates: Garden in Bloom Thank You. Peekaboo Peach and Flirty Flamingo flowers commingle on this two-step stamping card.
I was awake at 6:30 this morning getting our granddaughter, Raine, up and ready to be taken to daycare by my husband. She slept over last night providing us with a wonderful evening enjoying her company. She is such a little character now and the time we spend with her is so precious!

Due to my early start, I was able to design, stamp, and assemble thank you cards for my stamping group by 1:00 PM! Wow! I think I'm on a roll!

I chose a four color scheme for my card design:

Using the solid flower stamp from the Garden In Bloom stamp set, I stamped flowers in both Peekaboo Peach and Flirty Flamingo, stamping some full strength and others stamped off, on a Thick Whisper White matte. I then stamped over each flower with the outline stamp in the opposite color.

Flirty Flamingo and Peekaboo Peach worked very well for this as they blended beautifully when overlapping flowers. To create a pleasing design, I stamped full strength stamps in both colors, in a sort of triangle formation, some flowers full on the matte, others offset, and then filled in with the stamped off flowers. I then used my MISTI to stamp the sentiment from the now retired, Another Thank You stamp set, with Chocolate Chip.

I inked the edges of the matte with Chocolate Chip and then adhered it to a Flirty Flamingo matte using Fast Fuse Adhesive. This was then adhered to a standard Whisper White card base using Dimensionals to complete the card.

Though the design of this card is relatively simple, it took time to stamp the two-step stamps on each matte. After that, it was relatively easy to complete the cards.

I think the color scheme and card design work well. What do you think?
